What to Expect at a CSO Meeting

CSO educational programs begin promptly at 8:45am and include a brief CSO business meeting. Tuition includes a continental breakfast and luncheon, and most programs conclude by 4:00pm, unless otherwise noted in the program brochure.

Participants receive six hours of continuing education credit for each program, unless otherwise noted. Certificates of participation and continuing education credit are issued at the conclusion of each program. Attendees are responsible for obtaining their certificate before leaving.

Obstructive Sleep Apnea from A to Zzzzz

Obstructive Sleep Apnea is a relatively common disease with serious health consequences in both children and adults. This presentation will review the complex pathophysiology of sleep-disordered breathing and current treatment strategies. The relationship between sleep-disordered breathing and craniofacial growth and development will be examined, along with the current evidence related to CBCT imaging and orthodontic treatment effects on obstructive sleep apnea and the airway. For adults, oral appliances have become an accepted first-line treatment for a wide range of patients suffering from obstructive sleep apnea. This presentation will also discuss the latest evidence regarding the effectiveness of oral appliance treatment of OSA, as well as the management of the most common side effects.

Define the relationship between obstructive sleep apnea and craniofacial growth and development.
Evaluate the effectiveness of orthodontic therapy as a treatment for OSA in children.
Describe the role of the orthodontist in patients with sleep-disordered breathing.

Tuition will be invoiced after the program. Please submit all registrations and cancellations no later than two weeks prior to the meeting. If you plan to bring guests or team members, please include their names in the ‘Message’ section of the form below.
